This snapshot completely overhauls the game. Instead of spawning in the overworld, upon creating a world the player spawns in a hub dimension centered around a [[Mine Crafter]]. On interacting with the mine crafter, a window similar to that of a crafting table opens and the player can create “Mines”, sub worlds with world presets, a few of which the player spawns with, and the rest of which can be unlocked by completing various activities within mines. The player can enter these, and on leaving is given experience based on the items they have in their inventory. The inventory is separate between different mines. The player can use experience to buy upgrades (called “unlocks” in game), such as more inventory space. All of these changes effectively turn the game into a roguelite. Other small aspects of the game been changed as well: |

The Craftmine Update, or 25w14craftmine, is an April Fools' Day joke snapshot for Java Edition, released on April 1, 2025.[1]
Additions[edit | edit source]
Blocks[edit | edit source]
- Used to change the style of the sky with the sky box item.
- Used for generating custom mines.
- Cannot be mined.
- Can be destroyed by explosions and has a chance to drop as an item when exploded.
- Can be leveled up to unlock new mine ingredient slots. The mine crafter level is stored per world so the level will be the same in all mine crafters.
- Used to enter already generated mines after making a new mine with the Mine Crafter.
- Cannot be mined or exploded.
- Can only be found on a Mine Exit structure or on top of a Mine Crafter or Mine Revisitor.
- Although most other blocks and items are in the creative menu, this can only be obtained with commands.
- Used to travel to the mine contained in the Mine Crafter or Mine Revisitor.
- Spawns naturally in the The Hub dimension.
- Has the texture of the current sky box.
- Cannot be broken naturally without creative mode or commands.
- When using the door, "Doors yearn for keys!" shows up in the place where the item name would be.
- When using the door with a Shimmering Key in hand player can generate new rooms in the hub area.
- Given out after killing a specific number of mobs of the same type.
Items[edit | edit source]
- Has an item ID of
teleportation_wand
- Uses the stick texture with a glint (like the debug stick)
- Shoots an ender pearl when used.
- The item's texture and usage are similar to an Eye of Ender, except that an Eye of Exit helps to locate the exit portal for each mine. They are crafted by surrounding one iron ingot with eight copper ingots in a crafting table. The player unlocks the advancement "Spy Eye" for crafting one. Upon using an Eye of Exit, it will damage the player (unless the upgrade that prevents this is owned), and floats in the air to indicate the direction of the exit portal.
- The Eye of Exit replaces the Eye of Ender in all crafting recipes.
- The Eye of Exit cannot be used in any special mine.
- Uses the blaze rod texture with a glint.
- Shoots a ghast fireball when used.
- The item was added only to act as the icon for the "Oops" advancement
- Has an item ID of
grave_advancement
- Used to open the Shimmering Doors.
- Winning a special mine grants one key to a player.
- Acts as a music disc.
- The world "disc" after putting all the ingredients in the Mine Crafter.
- Every 5th mine is a special mine
- Used when crafting Mines.
- Used inside the Dimension Control block to set the look of the sky in the current dimension.
- When worn, make the player run faster based on how long jump is held, and then gives a proportional boost when jump is released.
- A meter similar to the horse jump meter replaces the XP bar to show the current speed boost.
- Uses the breeze rod texture with a glint.
- Shoots a wind charge when used.
Item Model[edit | edit source]
- Kuiper world item model added for the "Spaaaaace!" advancement
- Any item can be obtained with the model, for example using the command
/give @p mine[minecraft:item_model="minecraft:kuiper_world"]
Mobs[edit | edit source]
- Villager with different ai that spawns in the warden boss fight arena that will “talk to the player” and is only killable in creative mode.
- Modified boss version of the ghast with a slightly different texture.
- Shoots a burst of 3 fireballs at the player.
- Variant of the Fox used for the pet system.
- It cannot pick up items but will follow the player like a tamed wolf, including teleporting.
- Variant of the Chicken used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Cat used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Cow used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Mooshroom used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Polar Bear used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Slime used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Turtle used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Wolf used for the pet system.
- Can be upgraded into a large Dire wolf.
- Can be upgraded to carry a Netherite sword.
- Can be upgraded with armor.
- Variant of the Bee used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Axolotl used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Frog used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Armadillo used for the pet system.
- Variant of the Creeper used for the pet system.
Player Unlocks[edit | edit source]
- Added "Player Unlocks" which are abilities the player can unlock using XP levels.
- The Player Unlocks menu can be opened using the 'U' button or the icon in the top right of the player's inventory.
- The Player Unlocks menu uses the same GUI as advancements
Advancements[edit | edit source]
- Removed the Nether, The End, Adventure, and Husbandry advancement tabs. The Minecraft tab is the only original advancement tab that remains.
- From the Minecraft tab, removed the "Enchanter", "Hot Stuff", "Ice Bucket Challenge", "We Need to Go Deeper", "Zombie Doctor", and "The End?" advancements
- Renamed the "Eye Spy" advancement to "Spy Eye" and changed its in-game description from "Follow an Eye of Ender" to "Craft an Eye of Exit"
- Added the "Unlocks", "Feats", and "Down the Hatch" tabs.→

Changes[edit | edit source]
This snapshot completely overhauls the game. Instead of spawning in the overworld, upon creating a world the player spawns in a hub dimension centered around a Mine Crafter. Other small aspects of the game been changed as well:
- The player cannot craft normally until the ability is unlocked and must rely on a crafter to craft items
- Worlds can no longer be created in Creative, but the gamemode can still be selected with commands
- The main menu logo has been changed to "Craftmine: Java Edition"
Blocks[edit | edit source]
Andesite, Diorite, Tuff, Granite and End Stone
- The player may no longer sleep, as indicated by the action bar message, "No sleep for you, not today!"
- Removed.
- Replaced by blocks of diamond in strongholds.
- Removed.
- No longer teleports players to the Nether and hidden.
- Function has been disabled.
Items[edit | edit source]
- Disabled blocking
- Added unlockable dash
- Can now be eaten, with the same stats as sweet berries

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- This version has no panorama, making it the first version since Beta 1.7.3 to lack one.
- The loading screen is black by default.
- "Doors yearn for the keys!" is a reference to A Minecraft Movie, where Jack Black (Steve) says: "As a child, I yearned for the mines."
- The angry ghast’s shooting of three fireballs resembles the Giant Ghast in Minecraft: Story Mode.
- The menu is a reference to The Matrix.
- The text that appears in the background is a mix of the Standard Galactic Alphabet and Illageralt with the exception of the creeper face character which has no known font to include it. Illageralt is a language that appears often in Minecraft Dungeons.
- The actual font file is called font.png and it contains the creeper faces as fillers.
- The End portal frame textures exist in the game files despite them being removed from this version.
- The angry ghast may be a parody of the happy ghast, introduced at Minecraft LIVE – March 2025.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- ↑ The Baloonslayer advancement misspells the word "balloon" which should have two L letters.
- ↑ Jump up to: a b c A few advancements on the Feats tab were accidentally put in the mines resource location.
