A pedestal is a block used to create a potato portal in 24w14potato.

Obtaining[edit | edit source]

Pedestals are not obtainable as an inventory item in Survival, even with Silk Touch. They are available through the Creative inventory or commands.

Breaking[edit | edit source]

Pedestals have no assigned tool, meaning they are mined at the same speed regardless of the tool used. A pedestal never drops as an item when mined.

Hardness 55
Breaking time (secs)
Default 82.5
Legend
  • incorrect tool, drops nothing
  • correct tool, drops nothing or something other than the block itself
  • correct tool, drops the block itself
  • italicized can be instant mined

They are highly blast resistant and have the same hardness as reinforced deepslate.

Natural generation[edit | edit source]

Pedestals can generate naturally in ruined portatols, in villages both in the Overworld and in Potato dimension, at the center of end portals in strongholds, and in colosseums.

Usage[edit | edit source]

Potato portals[edit | edit source]

When a poisonous potato is used on a pedestal, a potato portal is spawned above the pedestal. This doesn't work if pedestal is placed in the Nether or the End (where they don't generate naturally). Additionally, block above the pedestal must be air or a replaceable block, like water or snow.

Piston interactivity[edit | edit source]

Pedestals cannot be pushed or pulled by pistons. They can, however, be moved by floataters.
