A key golem is a small passive mob that can be found within the various missions of Minecraft Dungeons.

- Sleeping

Key golems start off asleep.
- Alert

Key golems wake up when the hero approaches it.
- Run

Key golems attempts to evade the hero in any way that it can. The hero must hit it to collect it, at which point it gets strapped to the hero's back.
- Panic

Key golems squirm and yell in fear while on the hero's back. If the hero is damaged while wearing the key golem, the key golem escapes and flees back to its original location, but if another entity hits it, then that entity gets the key golem on its back.
Key golems can be picked up by certain mobs. If the mob gets killed, a key golem returns to the closest rug. These mobs are as follows:
