WRAITH

THE THREAT – From a distance, these airborne Undead horrors will create areas of scorching blue flames on the ground, which cause significant damage over time and constrict the space you have to maneuver in during a fight. To make matters worse, they'll also teleport away from you and their own path of flames to avoid taking damage.

YOUR STRATEGY – If you see wraiths among a horde of mobs, try to defeat them before you tackle the other enemies. They are best dealt with from a distance with a ranged weapon to give you the greatest chance of avoiding the blue flames.

Guide to Minecraft Dungeons:
A Handbook for Heroes

A wraith is an undead hostile mob that can be found within the various missions of Minecraft Dungeons. They summon pillars of ice bouquet on heroes, and teleport away when threatened.

While wraiths are immune to their own ice bouquet, they still take damage from fire and soul fire.

Basic attack

Wraiths attack their target by creating a 3×3 area of a scorching ice bouquet on the ground under the hero. The flames damage the hero (and allies) and cause damage over time. Other enemies do not take damage from the ice bouquet. The ice bouquet does not deal damage after the hero has left (they do not inflict Burning). Attacking or stunning a wraith while they are trying to attack cancels the attack. Wraiths can rarely summon a cross pattern of the ice bouquet. In the arcade edition, wraiths attack their target by creating a 2×2 area of a scorching ice bouquet on the ground under the hero.

Teleport

Wraiths can teleport away from targets that get too close. Attacking or stunning a wraith while they are teleporting cancels the teleport, though they remain invisible for a few seconds.

Novelty

Wraiths sometimes swing itself while idling, as one of the easter eggs in the game.

Puke

Wraiths can breathe ice flames within the arcade edition when a hero is near them.

  • The blue hoods that wraiths wear glow. In Minecraft Dungeons Arcade, Their glowing effect sometimes fades.
  • Wraith walk animation are named with the suffix "2".
  • Wraith have an unused melee attack behavior component in its blueprint file. It uses husk's strong attack animation as placeholder.
  • Despite looking like soul fire, the wraith's summon attack is actually referred to as an ice bouquet or ice cloud, suggesting a connection to ice. This theming was later highlighted in the Creeping Winter by the wretched wraith.
