— Guide to Minecraft Dungeons: A Handbook for Heroes |
A skeleton horseman is a powerful undead skeleton variant that can be found within the various missions of Minecraft Dungeons. In the arcade edition, skeleton horsemen are considered to be normal hostile mobs.
Lore[edit | edit source]
In a Twitter video, three skeleton horsemen were featured roaming some ruins within the cacti canyon.[1]
A single skeleton horseman with a boss bar appears within a secret area in the dingy jungle.

Behavior[edit | edit source]
Skeleton horsemen almost always spawn in groups of four, and their combined health is the same as that of an enderman and evoker.
- Spawn
Four skeleton horsemen appear out of nowhere near the hero. They will engage with the hero soon after. In the arcade edition, usually just one skeleton horseman spawns.
- Walk
Skeleton horsemen can commonly gallop away from melee reach, and gallop around the hero while idle, making them difficult to hit.
- Basic attack
Skeleton horsemen sometimes shoot an arrow at the hero with their longbows, dealing high damage.
- Novelty
Skeleton horsemen sometimes kick their forelegs when they idling.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Rarely during ancient hunts, a single skeleton horsemen or at least less than four can spawn. They are also seen without a boss health bar.
- In Default difficulty, skeleton horsemen are the rarest powerful mob in the game, spawning only within the fossil area in the cacti canyon.
- Skeleton horsemen do not spawn with the assistance of skeleton traps like in the base game.
- The skeleton horse model is different to the one the original game uses, because all horse models were changed in the Update Aquatic. Due to the model being different, the texture uses a version of JAPPA's texture for the skeleton horse adapted to the old horse model.
