— Guide to Minecraft Dungeons: A Handbook for Heroes |
A witch is a hostile mob that can be found within the various missions of Minecraft Dungeons.
Appearance

Witches resemble their counterpart from the original game, with the differences being that they are in a hunched position, they have a large wart on their nose, and their hat points straight up. Witches have eyes and eyebrows that are part of their head texture, making their faces static.

Behavior
- Walk
Witches try to stay away from the hero by slowly walking away from the hero between throwing potions.
- Attack throw
Witches concoct and throw foul brews to attack heroes and pets. Upon impact they explode, creating noxious poison clouds. The potion attack has a small circular radius, and disappears after a short time, all the while causing constant damage to anyone inside its radius. Witches attack from a short distance away and retreat back once they have done so. The hero can also shoot the potions mid-air to make them explode sooner, but it can still damage the hero and pets.
- Drink
Witches can heal themselves when injured by drinking a health potion, requiring a cooldown before drinking another one. They drinks a health potion for the first time when they lose more than 25% of their health. [verify]
- Novelty
Witches sometimes dance while idling. A dancing witch can be also found within the loading screen of the soggy swamp.
