A glow squid is a passive mob and a squid variant that can be found within the various missions of Minecraft Dungeons.

Behavior

Glow squids swim around, squirting ink when attacked, which inflicts the Blind effect on the hero.

The eponymous squid is a giant passive glow squid variant that can be found be found at the secret squid party within the Squid Coast mission of Minecraft Dungeons.

Secret squid party

In the mission, the secret squid party can be triggered by finding four patches of sunflowers in a specific order and standing by the flowers for a moment, then a button appears near them. Press all of the buttons in the right order and go back to the start of the mission and roll over to the bridge with the gold chest. In addition to the eponymous squid, several regular glow squids spawn there as well. There are also fireworks and music.

Trivia

• There is an achievement referred to by the name "Iceologer's Revenge" that is obtained by using the ice wand to defeat a glow squid. It is a reference to the iceologer losing to the glow squid in the mob vote of the original game.
• The eponymous squid concept originally came about from a joke among the developers about having a secret squid boss appear within the Squid Coast.
