— Pre-purchase Island Realms DLC description |
The Howling Peaks is a paid DLC announced at Minecraft Live 2020 and released on December 9, 2020.[1][2][3][4][5][6] It is the third DLC in Minecraft Dungeons and is located in the Island Realms tab. It takes place at a Jagged Peaks biome. It is the first DLC to have its own ambush, level intro, and boss fight music.
Unlike the previous two DLCs (Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter), the Howling Peaks DLC is the first DLC that is not included in the Hero Pass. Instead, a new Season Pass was released that includes four DLCs. (Howling Peaks, Flames of the Nether, Hidden Depths, Echoing Void)
Appearance[edit | edit source]

The Howling Peaks is a small island dominated by a large mountain with pathways trekking to the top; the summit of which, a sanctum was built atop it with a fancy temple. Beneath the summit lies an extension of the sanctum within the mountain. On the mountain side is a large wooden elevator shaft used for travel up the mountain. Around the mountain's base is a strongly fortified rampart, built to defend the mountain and the villages located by its snowy and autumn lands, which also compose the soil of the island, being filled with autumn leaves and small patches of trees.
