Main article: Mob § List of mobs

Implementation notes[edit | edit source]

  • This is a responsive version of Mob#List of mobs. The current version of that page is flawed because the mob list uses a table and adds scrolling if the screen is too small, making it not friendly for mobile users. This version will automatically wrap itself for smaller screen.
  • This design is a bit different in that the mob icon boxes are a bit bigger than the original one. My reasoning is that it is more friendly for mobile touch screen.
  • No custom classes or TemplateStyles is required, this is made using purely template, inline CSS, and wikitext parser features.
  • Templates used to make the mob list:
  • Some texts are required to be manually non-wrapping in order to make the browser un-break the texts for smaller screen.
  • Images by default are using "pixel-image" class, that's why you see the pixels are more crispy than the original one. This can be manually disabled though using the template, which are done for some images in the page.

List of mobs[edit | edit source]

Mobs are listed and classified by their nature from the player's perspective. For more details on a particular mob, click on them to view their individual page.

Passive mobs[edit | edit source]

Passive mobs are harmless mobs (except for pufferfish) that do not attempt to attack the player, even when provoked or attacked, though some of them may attack other mobs. Most of them can be bred or tamed.

Neutral mobs[edit | edit source]

Neutral mobs are sometimes passive and sometimes hostile toward the player. These mobs usually require provocation from the player in one way or another to attack or become hostile, while some can be naturally-hostile and have a way to be pacified.

Hostile mobs[edit | edit source]

Hostile mobs are dangerous, aggressive mobs that always attack the player within their respective detection ranges. Certain non-hostile mobs such as chickens, skeleton horses and spiders can be mounted by hostile mobs on rare occasions, and become hostile.

Boss mobs[edit | edit source]

Boss mobs are special hostile mobs that are tougher and more dangerous than other mobs. They do not spawn randomly and are confronted intentionally. All boss mobs have a bossbar featuring their name and health. Boss mobs provide unique challenges and equivalent rewards, such as XP.

Planned mobs[edit | edit source]

These mobs are planned to be added in the upcoming Summer Drop 2025.

Unused mobs[edit | edit source]

Only contains a few mobs that never spawn naturally in-game as they can only be summoned with the /summon or spawn eggs (except for old villagers and old zombie villagers, they cannot be obtained in normal game). Unlike the other unused mobs, agents and NPCs are available naturally in Minecraft Education on Tutorial Worlds. All of these (except the zombie horse) are either not available in Bedrock or Java edition.

Removed mobs[edit | edit source]

Removed mobs no longer exist in current versions of the game.

Joke mobs[edit | edit source]

Mobs that were added as April Fools' Day jokes in Java Edition, and cannot be found in the normal version.
