Causes Edit
Night Mode can be triggered by any of the following:
- One or more heroes go down in Multiplayer.
- Modifier from collecting a Mystery Banner, found by killing a Raid Captain.
- Playing in the Daily Trials.
- Playing during the Spooky Fall events (ended).
Effects Edit
In Multiplayer, when a hero is downed, a countdown timer appears and heroes have 30 seconds to resuscitate their team mates before phantoms swoop in and start damaging all of them. The phantoms are invulnerable, and their damage will increase over time. Only when they are all revived will daylight return. Night will constantly spawn Baby Zombies, Creepers, Skeletons, Spiders, and Zombies around the heroes' positions. In the Nether, ocean, and End, a different message will be displayed when night mode is triggered, and the latter two will also spawn different mobs that are more appropriate for their setting.
Raid Captain Variant Edit
When triggered from a banner, there are two notable differences:
- Permanent - cannot be dispelled until the mission ends.
- No countdown - Phantoms do not spawn in Singleplayer or Multiplayer.
