This page is about planned versions of all editions of Minecraft. These updates either have major sources to their existence or have received development versions.
Note that only editions with known planned updates are listed here; if no known planned updates exist, the edition is left out.
Java Edition
1.21.2
1.21.2, the Bundles of Bravery drop, is an upcoming minor update to Java Edition set to release sometime in 2024, which will update bundles, trial chambers, and adding the Minecart Improvements and Redstone Experiments experimental data packs.[1][2]
Combat changes
The combat system is planned to be reworked in a future update, keeping the cooldown but only allowing the player to attack when fully charged. It is not known yet when those changes will be made, as they are developed in parallel to other features and will make it into the game "when they're good enough". The update in which they are included will also not be a combat-themed update.[3] The latest combat test, Combat Test 8c, was released in August 2020.
Bedrock Edition
1.21.40
1.21.40, the Bundles of Bravery drop, is an upcoming minor update to Bedrock Edition set to release sometime in 2024, which will add bundles and hardcore mode.
1.21.50
1.21.50 the Winter Drop drop, is an upcoming update to Bedrock Edition set to release sometime in 2024.
Native PlayStation 5 release
The native version of PlayStation 5 is set to be released on October 22, 2024. This version of Bedrock will have higher render distance and 4K 60FPS support.[4]
