Minecraft Wiki:Use common sense

Jump to navigation Jump to search
This page in a nutshell:

If a rule prevents you from improving or maintaining the wiki, use common sense and ignore it.

On our wiki we have certain sets of rules and guidelines which are intended to help the community to work together and improve the contents of our wiki pages.

However, there is always the possibility that a policy or guideline, without the intention to do so, reduces your ability to improve the contents on a page. In these cases common sense comes in play, where you can ignore that particular policy or guideline, and help the wiki.

This doesn't mean you can break every policy or guideline; they reflect what we strive for: to be a community. You can always make an exception to a policy if it helps to improve the wiki, but common sense has its limits, and intentionally causing harm would go against what this policy stands for.

After all, we create the rules as a community together, and as we grow as a wiki, these same policies adapt to new realities. Nothing is set in stone, and policies can always be adapted to a new reality if there is a need to change them.
