The portal atlas, also known as the atlas, is a book that was created by the Old Builders to navigate the portal network. It was given to Jesse in the events of A Journey's End?.

History

Its history is tied to the portal network. It was created by the Old Builders to navigate the network.

In A Journey's End?, Harper tells Jesse and the others that they need the atlas to find their home. She also mentioned that the other Old Builders has it.

Jesse has made a deal with the Old Builder that if he/she winned, the atlas will be given to him/her. After winning the last game, Otto was about to give it to Jesse but Hadrian and Mevia interfered. After the two is defeated, Otto gave it to Jesse and he/she uses it to find the Overworld portal of their home.

Back in the Order Hall, Ivor steals the atlas and the New Order of the Stone would either follow him or leave him be.

It was revealed in Season Two, that Ivor travelled to many worlds together with Harper.

Properties

The atlas is a rare artifact that serves as a guide to the portal network and can be activated by simply saying where you want to go and opening it. Upon activation, it releases a torrent of enchanting symbols which travel towards the holder's desired portal. Hadrian also mentions to Jesse inside his palace that the "Atlas can see where people are from," which is used to kidnap Axel and Olivia. However, its power appears to be limited, as Hadrian failed to correctly discover the true identity of Reuben.

Trivia

• The atlas was originally going to be a golden compass with a glowing blue and yellow middle which would point to the portal one wanted to find. The texture for it can be found in the game files.
