Minecraft: China Edition[4] (Simplified Chinese: 我的世界; lit. "My World"; Pinyin: wǒ de shìjiè; Respell: wo-té-shr-tcje, Bopomofo: ㄨㄛˇ ˙ㄉㄜ ㄕˋ ㄐㄧㄝˋ) refers to localizations of Java Edition and Bedrock Edition for mainland China, developed by Mojang Studios, Xbox Game Studios and NetEase. China Edition's variants have most of the same parity issues and differences between editions as their non-China equivalents. China Edition has 700 million registered accounts as of September 2023.[5]
Editions[edit | edit source]
China Edition includes multiple different editions (which could be called "variants" or "subeditions"). The Mobile Edition[a] variant is available as a variant of Bedrock Edition, and the Desktop Edition[b] has both Bedrock Edition and Java Edition variants.
Mobile Edition[edit | edit source]

The Mobile Edition mainly runs on mobile devices and offers a specific version of Bedrock Edition.

It offers a launcher to enter the game, which hides the main menu of the vanilla game and directly opens the world. In addition to launching the game, the Mobile Edition also features functions such as group social, community forum, homeland, and resource center.
The launcher has a built-in browser to display announcements and news webpages of China Edition, some of which detect the environment to make the content visible only in-game. The launcher also has a network environment detection feature similar to vanilla Bedrock Edition, which prevents players from logging in when using Network Agent at OS level. The launcher also has a dark mode that adapts to night theme and can switch with the system time.
Platform[edit | edit source]
The China Edition of the mobile game supports the following platforms: Android, iOS/iPadOS/macOS.
Android platform games are divided into official servers and channel servers. The official server is mainly downloaded from the China Edition of the official website, while the channel server is mainly downloaded from various app stores or game platforms. Only Android official games can receive invitation for the trial version.
iOS/iPadOS/macOS platform games can be downloaded from the App Store and run on macOS as a "verified iPad designed application" compatible.
The macOS platform game always maintains a 3:4 vertical screen operation, even within the game. Unlike iOS/iPadOS, the macOS platform can view complete game files and local cache directories.

Development cycle[edit | edit source]
Since the release of China Edition, the mobile game version has undergone 5 major update per year, usually in January, April, June (or July), September, and November. The Bedrock Edition version is usually updated to the next stable version with significant changes, with an average annual update of the main version number and the secondary version number. During September and November, there are two main updates: anniversary celebration and gratitude season. In April, there is a fixed secondary update without a specific theme, and a weekly hot update. The main update requires downloading a new version launcher. The release time of the Android official server is may be earlier than the Android channel server and iOS/iPadOS/macOS platforms on the same day. The update is usually on the first or fourth Friday of the month. Within 2 weeks prior to the update, the Android official server invites players to download the development version of the mobile game to test the stability of the new version. The development version of the mobile game can play multiplayer games with players who are also using the development version, but can use the new version of the game content, features, and components in advance, and can receive trial rewards within the game.
Clearing the cache on the main interface removes all accumulated hot update resource packages and cache files. After restarting, it automatically updates to the latest version.
The current version number format of the China Edition isX.Y.Z:ABCDEF
.
- X is the main version number, which increases by 1 only when there is a major update to the mobile game launcher. The current number is 3.
- Y is the minor version number, which increases by 1 for each major update and returns to zero after the major version number is updated.
- Z is the minor version number, which is displayed as a hot updated resource version on the game side, and returns to zero after the minor version number is updated. The minor version number for the development version of the mobile game is fixed at 100.
- ABCDEF is the development ordinal number, and the larger the number, the newer the version. The iOS/iPadOS/macOS platform is usually equal to or 1-2 different from the Android platform. The development version uses this value to refer to the relationship between the relative game side.
Game content[edit | edit source]

Players can play the following bedrock based games in the mobile version. In addition to changes to some non game features of the bedrock version, the bedrock version used in the Chinese version has referenced Translation Standardization to modify the names of some content.
Single player game[edit | edit source]

Single player games are Minecraft games played locally, and world saves can be viewed through the device file management function. Players have full game access to the world.
In the game menu, players can directly create local games as online rooms. After creation, the room goes online in the online lobby and friends can be invited to join the game.
- Original Mode

Original mode is described as "Authentic classic original gameplay". Original mode allows players to create a vanilla map, with the ability to configure and manage components. Gameplay is mostly the same as the international version of Bedrock Edition, with some slight differences in features.
A single original mode world can load an unlimited number of "functional gameplay" components, with a maximum of 3 "material light and shadow" components installed.
"My Partner", "My Friend", and "Magic Command" components are enabled by default in all original mode worlds; In "Block guard mode", "Block guard material" is forcibly enabled.
- Cloud Archive
The cloud archive function can synchronize local archives to the cloud. The free account has 1 archive slot and 20MB storage space. Opening a cloud archive membership increases the cloud archive slot and capacity. Most were officially created and released with the major quarterly updates, with 10 released from Q1 2020 to Q2 2022, and are no longer being updated, but all playthroughs remain available and compatible with the latest game version.
Players can play the regular version of the quarterly playthroughs for free, which includes the full flow of the game and its main mechanics. Additional content can also be obtained by paying for the Advanced Edition or using the Member Experience.
Quarterly Playthroughs have separate mob, biome, dimensions, items, achievements, etc., and can be played in multiplayer, with achievements credited to the player's game account. Game progress from the quarterly playthrough usually serves as the quest objective for the current campaign.
Multiplayer games[edit | edit source]
- Network Game
Online game is an official custom Bedrock Edition server in the Mobile Edition, with Apollo as the core, and is hosted directly by NetEase. Game content is provided and maintained by the developer, and the developer can list the mall products in the server. Such products must be purchased with the premium currency "diamonds".
The Mobile Edition of the online game includes survival, mini-games, themed RPGs, etc. You need to download the relevant resource packs when you enter the server for the first time, and local components cannot be used in the online game.
Players can receive a monthly gift package when they log in for the first time each month, including: 500 Emeralds, Huayuting (花雨庭)/EaseCation/Dream World (梦世界)/Cloud Sea (云之海) online game gift packages.

The online room has a unique identification room number, usually a 4-6 digit number. Players can search and enter the room interface through the room number. The room owner can set the room password. Players must enter the correct password before joining the room. Players in the room can generate an instant QR code, and others can also directly enter the room interface by scanning it using the "Scan" function built into the launcher. The room owner can set a room player limit, with an optional range of 2-10 people. If the number of people exceeds the limit, others cannot enter.

- Online Gameplay
Online gameplay is a special online game whose room host is located in NetEase's data center. After the room owner creates a room, the platform creates a real-time server based on the selected online gameplay and broadcast it to other players including the room owner.

Online gameplay is a type of mashup package component mainly for multiplayer games, including independent maps, resource packs, etc. Most online gameplay components are free, "emeralds" and "diamonds" currencies can be used to purchase add-on items in the corresponding gameplay game. The game progress of online gameplay is tracked by the player account. There are 5 achievement trophies corresponding to 0%/30%/50%/80%/100% achievements, which can be displayed on the personal homepage; the room owner or the member authorized by the room owner has the right to save the real-time map to the cloud so that they can continue at any time. The upper limit of the cloud online gameplay archive is 200M, and a single archive is saved for 15 days when not in use.
- Local Connection
Local connection uses the host's device as the host and broadcasts the room to other players through China Edition platform/local router.
The host can choose an existing local map or create a new map as a shared archive. The map can be an original map, a quarter game, or an independent map/mix-up package component downloaded from the resource center, and the host can configure the components used in the room game, including functional gameplay components and material lighting components. Other players need to download all the resources configured by the host before joining the world to play the same game. Paid resource members can experience it without purchasing. Players can directly set the local game to a local online room or cancel the local connection and switch back to a single-player game in the in-game pause menu.
In local online games, the room owner has the highest authorities: they can set the room password, allow or deny PC players to enter, mute or kick out members, and grant members operator privileges. Any member in the room can report violations in the game, including inappropriate comments from other players and violations of the game room/room owner itself.
There are 8 room themes for local online: Survival, Creative, Adventure, Simulation, Action, Building, Confrontation and Leisure. The room owner can choose any two as room tags to assist potential members in searching. At the same time, the room owner can set a room slogan, which is displayed on the room page. There are 15 preset slogans in total.
- Team Lobby
The entrance to the team lobby is located below the online lobby. In the team lobby, players can create or join a team. Unlike a room, a team has a separate launcher chat room, and the room owner can change the online gameplay or local online map of the current team. Multiplayer games[edit | edit source]
- Network Game
Online games are officially certified Java customized servers in the Chinese version of games, with Apollo as the core. The server host is located in NetEase's data center. The game content is provided and maintained by developers, who can list products in the server's online store. These products must be purchased using the launcher currency "Diamond". Players can choose not to display the in-game mall. The Java version of online games has the same range as single player games.
For the first time entering the server, you need to download a client other than the game version. For a single online game, players can create up to 3 character profiles, and any ban imposed due to game account violations also takes effect on all character profiles.
- Online Lobby
The online lobby of the Windows version is the same as that of the mobile version, both of which are real-time bedrock version gameplay servers. The online lobby of the Windows version is not compatible with the mobile version.
- Local Online
Local online allows players to create any single player game version of the game room, including Java, Rock, and Light Chase versions. With the homeowner's device as the host, any version of the room can be configured with components. When members enter, they download them on the startup interface, and the game can be played directly after it starts.
- Rental Server Games
Rental server is a Java version of server hosting service, which has two types: pure rental service and custom rental service. Pure rental server is a fully original game server, with customizable components, plugins, and other additional content to provide higher server performance. The custom rental service channel is currently under maintenance and cannot be created.
- Pure rental clothing specifications
- 10 people: 1800 diamonds per month
- 20 people: 3600 diamonds per month
- 40 people: 5000 diamonds per month
The server owner has operator privileges and can also backup archives to restore previously saved archives at any time. Unlike the mobile version, the PC game rental service allows for downloading archives locally.
Game Center[edit | edit source]

The Game Center is an online game platform within the PC version of the game launcher, which allows you to quickly classify and filter online games and play them.
Component Center[edit | edit source]

The Component Center is a game add-on content distribution platform within the Windows version launcher, similar to Market.
The configurable components of single player games in the Windows version are divided into two categories based on their impact on the game: functional and visual. Visual is further divided into two subcategories: material sic and light and shadow. The above components can be retrieved in the Component Center by version, price, theme, etc. Online games, online gameplay, and more can also be found and purchased in the component center. Slightly different from the international Java version skin, the 128/256 pixel skin component can also be used for Java games.
Component Package[edit | edit source]
A component package is composed of several functional and visual components combined to achieve specific game effects, similar to an integration package. Component packages are mainly provided by the community, and any player can filter, edit, and submit their purchased components. Excellent component packages can be recommended by the community.
Other[edit | edit source]
Social Communities[edit | edit source]

The Desktop Edition has the main social functions of the mobile version, and the communities of the two versions are interconnected. Fresh news is similar to the community fresh news function of the mobile game version, with dynamic content exchange. The game forum is also linked to the official forum, and players can use NetEase Pass to directly create forum accounts.
Game Forums[edit | edit source]

The game forum is linked to the official forum, and players can use NetEase Pass to directly create a forum account.
Activity Center[edit | edit source]

The activity center is where the game activities are located. The permanent activities include daily login, redemption center, gift package store, and first-charge gifts. All of them are interconnected with the mobile game version data.
Unboxing[edit | edit source]
The unboxing page is where unboxing activities are located. Regular activities include legendary unboxing, gem secrets, and crystal secrets. All of them are interconnected with the mobile game version.
Storage[edit | edit source]
In the storage, you can view and use all kinds of launcher resources and props of players. Including: components, cards, avatar frames, activities, chat bubbles, name widgets. All are interoperable with the mobile version data.
Level System[edit | edit source]
The Desktop Edition has an independent launcher level system from the Mobile Edition, which can be viewed in the player portrait menu. The level is displayed in digital form, and the specific rules are unknown.
