Key art is released by Mojang Studios to promote Minecraft and its major updates or game drops. Key arts cannot be found in-game, as they are only released through social media accounts and minecraft.net.

Key arts depict Minecraft in a significantly more simplistic style than what is found in-game, removing most detailed texturing from features like mobs and blocks. Key arts for major updates focus only on the additions of that update, with few exceptions.
