MINECON 2016
MINECON 2016 was a Minecraft convention held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, USA, from September 24 to 25, 2016. It marked the final in-person MINECON event before the series transitioned to an online format.

On March 7, 2016, Mojang announced that MINECON 2016 would take place in Anaheim, California, USA, from September 24–25.[1] The official event website launched on April 18, 2016, featuring countdowns to ticket sales and links to discounted hotel accommodations.[2]
On August 12, 2016, Mojang developers teased announcements related to the Minecraft: Pocket Edition API during the event.[3][4]

Location within the ACC for MINECON 2016 are Exhibit Halls A and D. The recommended entrance is through Exhibit Hall E, on the lower level.
Tickets Edit
Tickets went on sale in two batches on May 6 and 7, 2016, priced at $160 (US) each. Each batch offered 6,000 tickets, totaling 12,000 available passes.[6] Purchasers received access to discounted hotel bookings through an official portal.

Event highlights Edit
During the convention, Mojang unveiled the Exploration Update (later released as Minecraft version 1.11), which introduced new features such as woodland mansions and shulkers. Panels included developer discussions, gameplay previews, and community workshops. Additional activities included build competitions, costume contests, and meet-and-greets with Mojang staff.
Promotions Edit

Attendees received an exclusive cape depicting an enderman. Players of Legacy Console Edition and Pocket Edition were granted the MINECON 2016 Skin Pack, featuring themed character skins.
