Utility[edit source]

@Arina Why would this be needed to put at the top of the article? Seems like it's of no value to the reader to the reader and is a waste of valuable above-the-fold space on mobile. I do support a message box at the top of the talk page though. GIM Dianliang233 (talk) 10:17, 9 March 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Seems like it's of no value to the reader - why do you think so? IMO it's very valuable to the reader as they will know that this is one of the best articles on this wiki. Arina (she/her) 10:35, 9 March 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
"featured" just means that the article is featured on the main page, it's not necessarily a permanent "award" for the article as it is on Wikipedia; we have too few articles for that.
If we were to add some template marking an article as featured, it should definitely not be a hatnote (we already tend to have way too many hatnotes) but instead either an icon (similar to protected icons) or a brief note at the bottom of the page. I'd personally prefer just having a category.
Side note: I chose the potato snapshot somewhat randomly just as an example for the main page draft and didn't really look at the quality of the article at all. | violine1101 (talk) 13:04, 9 March 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
