Talk:Ravager
What blocks them[edit source]
So, can illager beasts get past wood fences? Stone fences or walls? Can I protect my home base village by surrounding it with a fence or other barrier?
Do illager beasts and the village's iron golem fight one another? If so, that might be fun to watch.
I play Bedrock, so I have no idea what these are like. ~Amatulić (talk) 07:46, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- In the MC Forum, it's suggested (in a Snapshot, and from a Player) that they can attack Through, Solid Blocks. Not move-past, but attack-through (though this may be diagonal-corners, like Zombies - for-example - already [Pillagers, et. al. ..?]), so Past, the Wooden Doors (by at least a few Blocks, if again, not-necessarily in a row of Solid, Blocks).
- This could obviously be a Bug (and /or their "Roar" effect), in any case. So far it's a range thing, likely to counter-balance apparently (slightly-stronger it says here) Iron Golems' own beyond shortest melee-range, melee range attack. Compound mobs suggestion[edit source]
Like skeleton horse which can be ridden by skeleton, Ravager can spawn being ridden by pillager. Skeleton riding skeleton horse called skeleton horseman while pillager riding ravager, i have no idea what they should be called (since there no official name for it) but its should be added to compound mob list in template. ImakerB (talk) 14:24, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
- In case anyone official is following this, I suggest "mahout", which is what you call someone riding an elephant. Or we could just go with "ravager rider" or "ravager jockey". After all, someone who rides a camel is just called a "camel rider" and someone who rides a buffalo is a "buffalo rider" (and ravagers look sort of like buffalo to me). ~ Amatulic (talk) 15:44, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
Block Destroying Grid[edit source]
We should add a grid showing what blocks ravengers can destroy (crops, leaves, ETC), and showing on all versions since their capabilities differ.73.208.227.101 13:48, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
Update render[edit source]
The current render image of the Ravager uses the outdated Bedrock model with the nose that was too high, that was considered a bug and has since then been fixed as seen here. --ThePiDay (talk) 21:47, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
They should drop chains[edit source]
Ravagers are an interesting mob with the body of a giant cattle and the head of some type of villager. The 1.16 update added in a new block called the chain. I think that Ravagers should drop this block. It makes sense because if you look closely at the body of the beast you will see it has chains all over there body. And the sound the make when they walk has a hint of chains jingling. So why don't they drop chains? We will never know. – Unsigned comment added by 74.105.242.118 (talk) at 00:21, 29 May 2020 (UTC). - Well, chains are also to-be seen more-commonly with - New - Nether-associated, generated structures. Naturally generated with (piglin) bastion remnants and ruined portals.
- At /by that point, one would wonder - I worried they were piglins, first(?!) - whether hoglins (in many ways comparable to "smallish ravagers," though they also only have the-one type of attack, unlike ravager[s]'[s] two - regular Or roar - attacks) were chained. "Lore"-yeah, but it's of course always possible it's just decorative stuff for them, that they're "so Big" that they repeatedly "break (their?) chains," nonstop.
- Even if they just had the-ability to "attach chains" to them (seemingly already-some chain, upon them). They'd be a third mob (with bees and hoglins), that could be "attached," despite often-enough being hostile (useful for moving them only if they sometimes Don't follow - have-enough hostility [or perhaps speed, if "towed" like with a boat] - otherwise). "Lore" ref.[edit source]
If anyone's seen YouTube's "Game Theory /Theorists" Vid. , it's interesting. And "are they illagers?" Yilante 6 /6 /20. 6:56 p.m. 76.209.248.192 01:57, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
Unprotect page "Ravager Jockey"[edit source]
Its probably unlikely IPs or disruptive users will edit it. The "Ravager" page isn't protected anyway. ZaLink700 (talk) 05:41, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
You are able to dodge ravagers.[edit source]
What I mean is if you're fast enough the ravager will try to attack but miss. Should we add this to the page? After somewhere around 1.20.50 dodging became harder. This is not the case in Java Edition. Mineifications (talk) 23:51, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- Harder? I guess it sounds appropriate to add to the history. I wish some could verify this though. --Simanelix (T|C) 21:06, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
Problem![edit source]
you forgot to add that how ravagers now had sounds in the history section. KorayTehGOAT (talk) 11:00, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Did they start off with no sounds? It were they changed? If neither, then it's okay. -~- Nerdyguy2000 Talk Edits 13:51, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- yes, because when ravagers are first added in Snapshot 18w43a it just had no sounds. KorayTehGOAT (talk) 15:50, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
