Guardian.Thorns[edit source]

Can someone knowledgeable (or with sound) verify whether guardian.thorns also plays on elder guardians? – Sealbudsman talk/contr 16:31, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'm confused. Looking at the code, it looks like entity.guardian.thorns was removed in 15w47b, not added. For that matter, the only sound event added in 15w47b was entity.shulker.hurt_closed (and entity.player.attack.parry was renamed to entity.player.attack.nodamage). Or is the list of sounds "added" referring to actual assets that formerly had events but no sound file? Anomie x (talk) 17:08, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's referring to assets: sounds you'd hear in the vanilla game. People on this reddit thread are definitely reporting sounds that they say weren't there before, so there's that. I think people are comparing the 15w47a game log versus the current one, and I fell into that as well: I assumed all the sounds were added. But as you say, at least the guardian.thorns event was removed. So the takeaway here is, there is no guardian.thorns event, and therefore no sound, correct? – Sealbudsman talk/contr 17:27, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Now the text here is even more unclear, implying that the sound events were added and not just sound assets. Anomie x (talk) 22:22, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Although this reddit comment makes me second-guess that. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 17:29, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
All I can tell you is that "entity.guardian.thorns" was present in classes nf and ng in the 15w47a server jar and is not found anywhere in the 15w47b server jar or client jar. It also looks like "enchant.thorns.hit" is no longer used in the 15w47b server jar, having been moved to some method that is only included in the client jar. More sound questions[edit source]

Can someone knowledgeable (or with sound) determine whether the following sounds were added, and if so, in which snapshots:

  • entity.horse.eat
  • entity.zombie.infect
  • enchant.thorns.hit
  • block.chorus_flower.death
  • block.chorus_flower.grow

Shooting creative players with arrows[edit source]

I see a change that looks like formerly it wasn't possible to hit players that can't be damaged (i.e. creative and spectator modes) with arrows, and now it is. Can anyone verify that in-game? Anomie x (talk) 17:23, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

With a dispenser on a clock in singleplayer, testing the gamemodes you mentioned, the only change I see is that arrows now bounce off of creative mode players. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 17:39, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Snapshot info[edit source]

The snapshot header-thing says"15w47b was released to fix some issues with 15w47a." Should this be changed to "15w47b was released to fix an issue in 15w46b, along with adding various new sounds" or something like that?PancakeIdentity (talk) 20:58, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Re: Item transparency issues[edit source]

Melvin 124367, I just checked the bug tracker and found MC-92915. Is this what you are describing? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by BombChu16 (talkcontribs) at 14:45, 20 November 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~Reply[reply]
