Huh?[edit source]

Do we know that this is the Wild Drop? If sow, how? 100.7.29.185 16:02, 8 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Is it even possible for 25w02a to be a snapshot for anything other than 1.21.5? - Harristic / Talk 16:39, 8 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This update currenty don't have official name, "The Wild Drop" is just a placeholder like "Winter Drop" for 1.21.4 Nesekf (talk) 16:54, 8 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
“The Wild Drop” is not even a placeholder name, it’s a fan name, whereas “Winter Drop” was official. - Harristic / Talk 18:17, 8 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Isn't it more likely for the version number to be 1.22?[edit source]

I mean come on, Mojang can't just keep increasing the z for the version, we're not going to have 1.21.14 or something. Sul4ur (talk) 18:13, 8 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If Garden Awakens was 1.21.4, why would this drop be 1.22? - Harristic / Talk 18:16, 8 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
They absolutely can, lol. we had 1.7.10 once remember.  Nixinova T  C   05:29, 9 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
What I meant to say is that won't we eventually have 1.22? Sul4ur (talk) 07:06, 9 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That will come with a far bigger announcement. They've said 'game drop’ for this, so it's a minor ver increment.  Nixinova T  C   07:11, 9 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Is the name of slicedlime's playlist confirmation for the version number?[edit source]

The name of slicedlime's playlist of his update video(s) for this version (containing 1 video as of 2025-01-10) is Minecraft 1.21.5 Update Videos. He makes his videos in his spare time and they are not affiliated with Mojang, so technically are not official. However, I still believe this counts as a reliable source, since him mentioning the version number in his videos has been used as reference when it hadn't yet been officially confirmed. DorkOfThunder143 (talk) 19:54, 10 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No, because the videos and the YouTube channel itself are made as a personal project of his. BDJP (t|c) 20:31, 10 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yes, I know. However, like I wrote, his video for e. g. 24w33a was used for a period of time—from August 16, 2024 to when it was confirmed in the 24w34a changelog on August 21—on the Java Edition 1.21.2 page as confirmation for the version number of that drop, so I thought this should be the case here as well. DorkOfThunder143 (talk) 20:56, 10 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That argument would exclude all personal Twitter accounts as well. The YouTube channel is listed in Help:Official sources and even for his personal projects slicedlime will know more than we currently do. It can still be updated later to a more official source, but for now using the playlist name works as a valid source. -- MarkusRost (talk) 21:04, 10 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No. slicedlime confirmed in the reply to a comment on the snapshot video that the 1.21.5 in the playlist name is a placeholder, and the actual version number hasn’t been announced yet. G2245820920 (talk) 05:41, 11 January 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Renaming this update tentatively to "Friendly Fables Drop"[edit source]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section.
Friendly Fables drop mentioned in this leaked roadmap is scheduled for Q2. Q1 will get this update 1.21.5 as mentioned in the third part under Q1 section [Pointed out by User:3A]. Therefore, this proposal becomes irrelevant disregarding if this is actually true or not. My bad I didn't mind to notice.

As it might be known to almost every Minecraft player, a roadmap was leaked stating what all is going to happen with Minecraft this year. In the leak, this Spring Drop is called "Friendly Fables Drop". I am not sure if a name change can depend upon a leak but recently, Minecraft has been leaking a lot things which have been true. I propose that 1.21.5 should be temporarily and tentatively renamed to "Friendly Fables Drop".

Weak Support | Weak support as I am not very sure.
(talk) 09:52, 8 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Strong oppose - This leak is probably fake for some reasons so... Brandcraft (talk) 09:57, 8 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I've mixed opinion on this. It would be fun to name it on a leak but it is probably fake. Still I'm tilted towards giving it this name. - StizzurpXDD(talk) 10:29, 8 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The content in that image makes no sense at all. Definitely a fake leak, a copy of the previous one from a couple weeks back.  Nixinova T  C   10:46, 8 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I am opposed to giving things unneeded names, and basing those names on leaks that may or may not be reliable is a terrible idea. Also, we don't really cover leaks, and covering names is having the foot a bit too far out of the doorstep. Gwen Stacy (talk) 10:57, 8 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Extremely strong oppose. Read the leak again. The alleged "Friendly Fables" update is for Q2. Is it Q2 yet?
There's another release for Q1 clearly on the black line. THAT is the Spring Drop. The alleged "Friendly Fables" update is a "Summer Drop".
The leak also says the reveal is for Minecraft Live Q2 2025. Has it happened yet?
Again, if you read the leak clearly, you will see that the Q1 update, with the TWO VARIANTS OF PIGS LITERALLY SHOWN, is named "??? Twigs" update. I'm not sure about the character(s) before the "wig" though. — 3A |  T  C  11:20, 8 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Very strong oppose This it the page for Java Edition 1.21.5, these are always named by version number, such as Java Edition 1.21.4, if anything then Spring Drop 2025 should be renamed. -- jacobsjo (talk) 14:04, 8 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I meant the say the name in infobox.
(talk) 14:08, 8 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ah I misunderstood -- jacobsjo (talk) 14:23, 8 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Some remarks on my comment for the section above[edit source]

Again, if you read the leak clearly, you will see that the Q1 update, with the TWO VARIANTS OF PIGS LITERALLY SHOWN, is named "??? Twigs" update. I'm not sure about the character(s) before the "wig" though.

I did a quick search yesterday, apparently the leaked name was "Pigs & Twigs". We'll have to see if the leaks are true then, though. Probably within a month. — 3A |  T  C  04:06, 9 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No it wasn't. Whatever, these "leaks" are probably fake anyway. — 3A |  T  C  12:44, 29 March 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Maybe we should add images of items in the "Changes" section.[edit source]

I noticed that in some older versions this was done. I think this will make it easier to navigate through the pages. Fedea (talk) 18:17, 12 February 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It is true this update is called 1.21.5 --FeedbackBot 10:21, 12 March 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Uh, yes. All the [unofficial version] text or similar have been removed unless I missed some. — 3A |  T  C  11:02, 12 March 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Why is the new explorer maps (jungle, swamp, desert, plains, savanna, snowy, and taiga) missing from the additions chest thing? They are visible on the java edition version history page for this version but they are not in the chest thing over here. They are mentioned way below in text form however. It would make sense to have the item icon too in the addition chest thing as I mentioned. Is there a reason why they are excluded? --FeedbackBot 19:07, 18 March 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Why were the seven new maps deleted in the "chest" addition viewing thing? They were literally visible yesterday and are in the game. According to the edit history, it was done by someone named "Mix" without a reason given. --FeedbackBot 20:41, 26 March 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

In the technical section, the game test additions aren’t grouped together, making it hard to navigate. --FeedbackBot 05:29, 27 March 2025 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Text bobbing from animated mob variants[edit source]

this is copied from my post on the Bedrock spring to life talk page, but is still true

"the animations for the new mob variants is causing the whole page to bob up and down on mobile. This issue was already adressed and resolved on the main Spring to Life page. I would fix it but I dont know how :("
