Generated strucutres merge[edit source]
I personally support this merge. Normally, only larger structures, such as ocean monuments, have their own page. Smaller things like witch huts are only on the generated structures. I think there is not enough information yet to warrant its own page. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 19:54, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
I agree and support this merge. The page is not big enough to be on it's own. 131.109.7.222 13:49, 1 June 2016 (UTC)

I agree. This is a generated structure, so I should be merged. | AndrewAB (talk|contr)

- I have re-split this article as witch huts, etc, now have their own pages. – Nixinova

Generation[edit source]
Do fosssils spawn with either a skull or spine, a skull and spine combined, or both?73.208.227.101 02:25, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
- Either skull or spine, never both.73.208.227.101 19:21, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
In the soul sand valley biome teased at Minecon fossils were shown to be in it. Should we mention it?73.208.227.101 19:21, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
- Not until it has appeared in a development version (MCW:FUTURE). -BDJP (t|c) 19:26, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
- It can be mentioned in the History section. Nixinova T C 19:42, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

Generation height[edit source]
I'm curious about the height fossils can generate at. I'm playing in a Bedrock Realm, fully updated to include Bees (if that makes a difference), and I found a fossil skull in a desert at around height Y=16 (It was in a cave just off a ravine), and the surface level is around 64. It was such that there was lava just below the fossil. Is the height thing in the code, or is there some anomaly that caused a fossil to generate so low? 86.162.98.38 00:55, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
What creature?[edit source]
What giant prehistoric creature? What do you mean? Do you mean the giant?–Preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.142.57.33 (talk) at 20:53, 13 March 2020 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
Merge Pages[edit source]
Nether fossils should be merged with this page, since the two are very similar. 98.230.115.82 22:37, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
- This has been discussed before, see Talk:Nether Fossil#Merging. The result of that discussion was not to merge. --AttemptToCallNil (report bug, view backtrace) 23:07, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, like ATCN said, we had this discussion already. They're actually very different despite the name similarities, so it doesn't make much sense to merge. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 03:25, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
Umm...[edit source]
Sorry if this annoys anyone, but it never says that fossils can generate in caves or anything like that. Can someone... Nerdyguy2000 (talk) 14:34, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
sniffer fossil[edit source]
one of the fossil combinations resemble a sniffer 24.45.101.232 21:28, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- That is speculation as fossils were added long before the sniffer was. BDJP (t|c) 21:31, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
Single "eye"?[edit source]
Can someone provide some kind of official source for referring to the holes on the front of the skull as eyes, or as anything specific at all? If not, should they be referred to as something more ambiguous instead, like "orifice"? ScholarMoth (talk) 18:26, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
