bedcrush!?[edit source]

I have never heard this term used, ever. I was going to remove it, but I considered the possible edit war. I don't want to start one. has anyone reading this heard of it?- StarHorder 16:32, 2 December 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If you've never heard of a nickname that is stated in the beginning of an article, or it states that it's called that "by the players", feel free to remove it. Alternate names are either heard from Mojang that differ from the "official" name or old names (such as through development). Those are the only acceptable nicknames. Minecraft 1.8.7, this DOESNT work anymore. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Grapz224 (talkcontribs) at 17:13, 23 June 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~Reply[reply]

It still works for me. Does it work on a fresh vanilla 1.8.7.jar in single player? If so, the problem is a mod is interfering with it (which may be a server mod such as bukkit). If not, report this to the bug tracker, as it still functions properly for most players. KnightMiner t/c 02:15, 24 June 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

What ways remain to pierce bedrock in vanilla?[edit source]

Tree#History says that as of 1.8.2, Dark Oak branches no longer replace solid blocks. It sounds to me like this would effectively kill the bug that let us pierce the Nether's bedrock ceiling. Is there some other remaining way to do that? Even ender-pearling through the roof isn't a huge help if you have to do that every time you visit your "over-roof base". --MentalMouse42 (talk) 00:55, 7 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This recent Wattles video (full credits backwards to be found in the description) describes a block replacement method that works in vanilla Java normal survival 1.14.4, but is deemed to be an exploit as I understand it, and may anyway be irrelevant in a very few days. :)--212.237.134.100 23:58, 6 December 2019 (UTC) (AlleyKat on Discord)Reply[reply]

Bedrock Item Drop Java Edition[edit source]

This video uploaded on July 21 2020 shows a way to obtain the bedrock item in Java Edition 1.12 through a series of convoluted steps and lag exploitation. As this is (presumably) not possible in versions above Java Edition 1.12, and uses some exploitation (though I am not well-versed in the finer distinctions between bugs, exploits, and "legal" play), should this be acknowledged in some area of the page? Would this classify bedrock as renewable in both versions? SnartYart (talk) 05:26, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bedrock has a finite hardness while still being unbreakable[edit source]

Why is bedrock's hardness 18,000,000 when it's unbreakable? It's really confusing. Can anyone confirm this? - Melvintnh327 (talk) 06:53, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

-1 makes the block unbreakable. I corrected it. TheGreatSpring (talk | contribs) (Tagalog translation) 06:58, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks :D - Melvintnh327 (talk) 07:01, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
People who looked through the code have provided the value, it is not -1. There's a hard limit for players breaking up to a certain hardness value, it seems, but the value displayed should still show the assigned value. Dhranios (talk) (Join the wiki videos project!) 08:27, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So that means that any block with the hardness value of 18,000,000 becomes unbreakable? - Melvintnh327 (talk) 3:12, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
I've calculated it, and seems like for a block with the hardness value of 18,000,000 (not unbreakable) to be broken with a golden tool with Efficiency V and Haste II would take over 19 days for it to break, which is kinda crazy, so maybe that's why it became unbreakable - Melvintnh327 (talk) 10:20, 11 January 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Regarding Bedrock's Blast Resistance change from 18,000,000 to 3,600,000[edit source]

I can't speak for Java Edition so I haven't made the change yet, but for Minecraft Bedrock/Windows 10 Edition this value is incorrect. It is still 18,000,000(18 million) blast resistance as of MCBE/Win10 1.18.12. I'm an MCBE/Win10 code digger. 18,000,000(18 million) is what it is in the code, so calculations are irrelevant here as this is factual, straight from the Vanilla binary, no mods.

Can anyone confirm that Java Edition is the same or differs from this? If so I'll edit it so that there's Java Edition Blast Resistance and Bedrock Edition Blast Resistance if no one else does it before me. If no one confirms for some time or makes these changes, I will edit it to 18,000,000.

Also I looked at the blast resistance page and believe just from looking at bedrock, sandstone, and grass block; that most-if not all-of those values are incorrect as well for Minecraft Bedrock/Windows 10 Edition. Sandstone is 4 blast resistance, and grass block is 3 blast resistance as of MCBE/Win10 1.18.12. Again, this is factual, straight from the Minecraft binary, not relying on personal calculations. – Unsigned comment added by Rixef (talkcontribs) at 04:54, 25 February 2022 (UTC). Issue list doesn't work correctly here[edit source]

So, from what I see in the source code, it's automatically generated. But there's a problem: in many of these issues, "Bedrock" refers not to the block of bedrock, but to the Bedrock Edition
