Secret Recipes
The following are special recipes, some of which are not revealed in Alblaka's forum post.
Reminder: They may be changed or deleted from the Mod at any revision without warning.
Please feel free to contribute any recipes that you have found!
New Recipes for Normal Items
The following are special recipes unique to IndustrialCraft that make established Minecraft items.
Tin Bucket
- tested: v7.16
This recipe is not listed, but is revealed sometimes when making an RE Battery. Since Tin Ore is more readily available than Iron Ore, this makes a more economical way of crafting a Bucket.
- Crafting:
Materials: 3× Tin
Produces: 1× Bucket
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
- Notes:
- -See Bucket page for item details.
Glowstone Dust
- tested: v1.103
This recipe is not listed but makes an easier way to make a resource only available otherwise in the Nether
- Crafting:
Materials: 5× Gold Dust, 4× Redstone
Produces: 1× Glowstone Dust
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
- Notes:
- -See Glowstone Dust page for item details.
Gunpowder
- tested: v1.103
This recipe is not listed but makes an easier way to make a resource only available otherwise from Creepers and in Dungeon Chests
- Crafting:
Materials: 5× Coal Dust, 4× Redstone Dust
Produces: 3× Gunpowder
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
- Notes:
- -See Gunpowder page for item details.
Bronze rails
- tested: v7.16
Use bronze ingots instead of iron. Yields 4 track pieces for every 6 bronze+stick Template:Grid/Crafting Table
Special Recipes
The following are special or secret recipes to make items unique to IndustrialCraft.
Industrial diamond
Coal chunks (the second to last stage of the manufacture of industrial diamond) may be crafted replacing the obsidian by iron blocks or brick blocks
Iron Dust Heap
- tested: v7.16
This recipe is not listed but provides a way to trade 8 Copper Dust and 10 Tin Dust into 1 Iron Dust since Iron Ore is not as readily available as Copper Ore and Tin Ore.
- Crafting:
Materials: 5× Tin Dust, 4× Copper Dust
Produces: 1× Iron Dust Heap
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
- Recipes:
Materials: 2× Iron Dust Heap
Produces: 1× Iron Dust
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
OR
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
- Notes:
- - 10 Tin Dust and 8 Copper Dust to 1 Iron Dust
Gold cable
Alternative recipe for normal cable. Gives 12 instead of 8. Replace copper with gold in the original recipe. Template:Grid/Crafting Table Note: In the current version these cables will differ from the copper ones, as they can handle more EU/p without melting
Redstone cable
Alternative recipe for normal cable. Gives 2 instead of 8. NOTE: this doesn't work (maybe deleted from game) Template:Grid/Crafting Table
Clumpy Fuel
Using 2 hydrated compressed coal lumps + 1 compressed plant clump yields the same clumpy fuel as 3 coal lumps, saving non-renewable coal Template:Grid/Crafting Table
Super Fuel
- tested: v7.16
Super Fuel is more powerful than Fuel.
- Crafting:
Materials: 2× Gunpowder, 1× Redstone, 1× Glowstone Dust, 1× Fuel
Produces: 1× Super Fuel
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
- Recipes:
Super Fuel can be used to make Single-Use Batteries:
Materials: 2× Super Fuel, 1× Cable
Produces: 10× Single-Use Batteries
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
Super Fuel can be used to refuel the Jetpack:
Materials: 1× Super Fuel, 1× Jetpack
Produces: 1× (Fueled) Jetpack
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
- Notes:
- -Super Fuel can provide 144000 EUs as a Fuel
Nuke
- tested: v5.43
If one reads the small print, Alblaka seems to use reverse psychology to provide evidence of this secret recipe.
- "As well, do not try to use nuclear material to craft nuclear-enhanched TNT. It will not work, as the idea to craft complex Nukes from 4 Nuclear material and 5 Gunpowder wouldn't make any sense, for sure!"(forum post, search "Nuclear Reactor")
- Crafting:
Materials: 5× Gunpowder, 4× Uranium Fuel Ingots
Produces: 1× Nuke
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
OR
Materials: 5× Gunpowder, 4× Uranium
Produces: 2× Nuke
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
- Notes:
- -Can be defused after being placed by using a Wrench
- [Extended fuse, about 15 seconds; damage radius: fully fatal at 15 meters; deform radius: about 30 meters in diameter, cubic; melts in a starburst pattern 5-10 meters from blast radius end; fully blocked by bedrock, leaves triangular safe zone behind one bedrock block, even adjacent to nuke; all information within these brackets is primitive and requires more accurate measurements.]-submitted by Muldrake
Reinforced Stone and Reinforced Doors are not immune to the blast, though they do dampen it somewhat. "Placing a nuke in the middle of a 3x3x3 cube of reinforced stone and detonating it will only destroy the reinforced stone." - from Reinforced Stone description.
Miner TFBP
Template:Mod/Block The Mining TFBP works a little differently to its brethren, in that it affects a much smaller radius (approx. 5 block radius) and will remove all blocks within its radius (excluding the Terraformer itself) including man-made ones and Stone. It will remove all blocks in the given radius between the device and bedrock, excepting ores, which it will leave exposed. It isn't as efficient as using Miner blocks, but can be used to create pits which can be later used for Mob Farms, etc.
- Crafting:
Materials: 5× Stone Pickaxe, 1× Blank TFBP
Produces: 1× TFBP - Miner
Template:Grid/Crafting Table
- Notes:
- -Will crash the game if Miners are used within an approx. 15 square radius of an active Miner Terraformer.
- -Like all TFBPs, its function can be erased by applying electric current to it (ie placing it in the top slot of a Mobile Charger and placing a charged RE Battery or a Single-Use Battery into the bottom slot).
