A zombie is an ally unit within Minecraft Legends.
Obtaining[edit | edit source]
Campaign[edit | edit source]
After destroying at least one Nether Portal (post-night beacon), it provides access to the Zombie Homestead on the map, as identified by the Zombie icon on said map. Upon arriving there, a piglin count will appear on the screen, which signifies how many piglins need to be taken down. With the necessary piglins defeated, the nether portal at the encampment would need to be taken down. Once this is done, the Zombie spawner will be unlocked within the spawners hotbar. Keep in mind that redstone is necessary to create Zombies so a gather redstone improvement would also be needed.
Spawning[edit | edit source]
In campaign, zombies can be spawned at a zombie spawner using 2 redstone, 2 lapis and 1 flame of creation.
In versus, zombies can be spawned at a zombie spawner using 10 redstone, 8 lapis and 1 flame of creation.
Behavior[edit | edit source]
When lured, zombies will follow the player and all orders given by them. They are hostile to all enemy units and structures and will attack them if they are close enough even if no order has been given to do so. They are otherwise passive to all non-enemy units and structures.
Zombies that spawn from zombie spawners but are not lured will stay in place and never move. Zombies that spawn naturally in the world will wander aimlessly until lured by the player.
Attacks[edit | edit source]
Zombies have one melee attack.
Name | ID | Damage | Cooldown | Min range | Max range | Damage type(s) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Melee | zombie_melee_attack
|
12.5 | 2.2 secs | 0 | 0.85 | Melee Slam |
Resistances and weaknesses[edit | edit source]
Zombies can be dealt more or less damage depending on the type of damage inflicted.
Damage type | Multiplier |
---|---|
Spore | 0.5x |
Slash | 1.2x |
Fire | 1.7x |
Strategy[edit | edit source]
Zombies specialise in absorbing damage, as they have 200 health, which is the highest health of any basic unit. For comparison, the unit with the second highest health of all basic units is warriors with 125 health.
Zombies deal 12.5 damage with the "slam" damage type, which is more effective against structures.
They take 50% less damage from spore damage, 20% more from slash damage, and 70% more from fire damage. This means they are effective at destroying structures such as spore towers, but less effective at killing piglins such as brutes and lava launchers.

Forging an alliance at the Zombie Homestead |
"Despite their horticultural leanings, zombies will bravely fight in the frontlines to save their allies from heavier blows. It's a good thing that the piglins haven't caught onto why zombies wear hats." |
