Minecraft Earth was shut down due to outdoor restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It can no longer be downloaded or played, but the contents of this page are kept for historical interest.
A map view in Minecraft Earth, showing a 3D view of the player's real-world map, with game features overlayed.

The map in Minecraft Earth was the game's rendering of the player's real world around the player's GPS location.

Map display elements[edit | edit source]

At the top left corner, the player's avatar appeared with the player's health gauge, and experience level below the avatar.

A compass was shown in the top right corner, pointing in the direction of north relative to the current view of the map. A small white oval on the compass indicated that the game compass was linked to the device's internal compass. In this mode, the compass and view moved in real time as the player moved the device in the real world. If the white oval was missing, then the compass was de-linked from the device's internal compass, and simply showed north relative to the current view of the map.

On the left side, there are icons for the journal, season, and challenges. There may be green circles next to the icons to indicate that you have found a new item or completed a task.

The boosts icon is located on the right side. When you use a boost, a timer will appear at the bottom of this icon to notify you when the boost is finished.

In a row below the map, icons were shown for inventory, Make Stuff, adventures, buildplates, and the store. The Make Stuff icon displayed a number if crafted or smelted items had completed processing.
