Copper will oxidized over time (about once every 20 minutes). Before it goes to the next stage of oxidization it will check if there are any blocks of copper around it with lower levels of oxidization. If there is it will wait another 20 minutes before oxidizing. You can revert oxidization with an AxeAxe or you can pause the oxidization with HoneycombHoneycomb which will award you with the achievement Wax On. |
|||
However, as a Copper Bulb oxidizes its light level will drop. You can do the same as the copper blocks and use Honeycomb or an axe to alter its oxidization. |

Copper is a material found in the Overworld. It spawns naturally in copper ore, which drops raw copper, which can then be smelted into copper ingots.
Items
Copper Ingot - an item created by smelting raw copper or killing drowned.
Raw Copper - an item dropped from mining copper ore.
Spyglass - an item crafted with copper ingots and an amethyst shard that can be used to zoom in on distant objects.
Brush - a tool crafted with a stick, a copper ingot and a feather. It can be used to brush suspicious blocks and can be used to brush armadillos for armadillo scutes.
Blocks
Copper blocks oxidize over time, gaining a verdigris appearance over four stages. They can be prevented from oxidizing by being waxed with honeycombs, and returned to previous oxidation stages using an axe.
Block of Raw Copper − a block used for compact raw copper storage.
Copper Ore - an ore that can be found underground.
Deepslate Copper Ore - the deepslate variant of copper ore.
Lightning Rod - a block used to divert lightning strikes.
