Structure guidelines Edit

There are four branches in this forum: Minecraft, Minecraft Wiki, Movie, and Miscellaneous. Each one is used to chat about its respective topic.

The Minecraft branch covers most Minecraft related topics (including spinoffs, websites, and videos), official and unofficial. This includes Mojang, add-ons, mods, Minecraft YouTubers, Minecraft-related websites, and, of course, Minecraft itself.

The Minecraft Wiki branch covers everything about the Minecraft Wiki, other users in it, other related wikis, or just wikis themselves if they're relevant. This includes the MediaWiki software, Wikipedia, Fandom, the discord server, interlanguage wikis, the board, etc.

The Miscellaneous branch mainly covers real life, but also covers all other non Minecraft and Minecraft Wiki stuff, such as other sites on the Internet not related to Minecraft or this Wiki. This includes websites irrelevant to the other topics, real life, and so much more!

The Movie branch currently deviates in general structure from the others. Its topics are simply added as needed. The branch is separate so that no spoilers come to the members of the CF that haven't seen the Minecraft movie.

A topic may be split when:

  • It is the Topic Creator being archived or split into another discussion
  • The discussion gets off topic
  • The topic gets so long that a second, third, fourth, etc. topic is necessary

When splitting, be sure to modify the indentation as if it's its own topic, move it to the bottom of the page (or a different branch if necessary), and give it a title.

You are able to look at and comment on the active threads, look at existing comments in the "topic creator" topic and perhaps reply to them, or you can comment in the topic creator.

Basically, reply to the first comment in the topic creator to make a new topic, and it will be split into its own topic when it reaches at least three or four comments by two users (if discussion is unlikely to continue, then it should not be split).

Replies in the topic creator are archived in the TC archive when they have existed for seven days and discussion is unlikely to continue.

When there are five inactive topics, this community can come to a consensus on whether to archive them or not. If it gets consensus, all of the five topics and the topic discussing archiving are archived.

Branch archives are made at "User:PhoenixAsh89/Chat-Forum/Archive/<branch name><number>", with a separate archive created when the last one exceeds 10 archive sections. An archive section is five inactive chat topics and a topic discussing whether to archive or not (see above). Archive sections are H1 headers just to make it easier to create them, and their name is simply "Section <number>".

Feel free to change these guidelines (with consensus on the talk page), as they are in progress.

About Edit

This chat forum is a place where users can come to hang out, relax, and chat with other editors (Kind of like the discord server but on wiki). This small community is a safe place to just... talk. Before this forum was created there was a single talk page plus an archive, which quickly became disorganized.

History Edit

This chat forum started as a single page when PhoenixAsh89 and Nerdyguy2000 were chatting in various topics, which became slowly off topic. Then, the two users had a talk page just for chatting, and they were later joined by ArduFish, Øscar, and Hoangminhle2011. Then, with the speed of the conversations growing, NG2K suggested a larger scale chat, sort of like the forum. Then this small community made this forum. After that, NmbrblcksFan also joined the Chat forum. Shortly afterward, Kavan, Ssysi, and MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 joined as well.

18 July, 2024The original chat page is created.
1 August, 2024PhoenixAsh89, the host of the chat page, is forced into inactivity by local storms in real life.
28 September, 2024PhoenixAsh89 becomes active again, and a second chat topic is made.
2 October, 2024ArduFish joins the chat, in a separate topic.
3 October, 2024Chat the Third is created.
7 October, 2024Øscar joins the chat.
14 October 2024Hoangminhle2011 joins the chat.
14 October, 2024Chat the Fourth is created.

Guidelines & Disclaimers Edit

Politeness and consideration guidelines Edit

  • No controversy is intended by any comment on this chat forum, and no controversy should be caused by any, and all comments should be treated as such, unless negative or offensive intentions are completely clear and unequivocal.
  • Despite the first point, the phrase "no offense intended" or similar phrases should be used when applicable. No comment should have any remotely controversial or offensive intentions whatsoever.
  • Please do not intentionally and/or knowingly offend or disrespect any user here.
  • Spam and/or vandalism, racism, profanity, and other similar behaviors should be counted as disrespect and therefore should never be in this forum.
  • This chat is a safe place. No one should be judging anyone here!
  • Please, no offensive or unwise language. Any such should be replaced with [spoiler]@#$%&!@#$%&!.
  • Politeness and honesty are valued here! Please give your honest opinions here. We will not judge you. And please be as polite as you can be.

To put it shortly, make this a perfect chat forum! That can't be against the rules, can it?

Any breaking of rules will be reported to, uh, the person who broke the rules with a polite warning. Persistent rule breakers are also probably breaking the wiki rules, and thus will probably be blocked.

Other guidelines Edit

  • Please do not put "(unrelated)" to change the subject of a topic. Instead, comment in the topic creator.
  • Staying relatively on topic is encouraged, but slowly transitioning to another topic is also encouraged; it allows us to split the topic and have more diverse topics with the discussion still in full swing.

Discussion guidelines Edit

There are a few topics we really shouldn't talk about, such as politics. Please be careful with what you're discussing here.

This section is in progress. Please feel free to edit, add, or remove guidelines and disclaimers here.
