Description
Pale gardens are a biome variant of dark forests which generate adjacent to dark forests in high inland areas when weirdness values are high. They mainly consist of pale oak trees, along with pale moss patches made of pale moss blocks and pale moss carpets, and scattered eyeblossoms. Pale hanging moss can also be found hanging off the trees. Some of the pale oak trees contain a creaking heart block, which spawns a creaking when activated at night. Woodland mansions can generate in pale gardens. The water, sky, and blocks of the biome are desaturated. Woodland mansions do not generate in pale gardens.JE 1.21.5

The pale garden is the rarest Overworld biome, making up around 0.07% of the Overworld on average. Besides dark forests, pale gardens uncommonly border old growth pine taigas, forests, birch forests, meadows, jungles and mountain groves, with an even smaller chance to border old growth birch forests, taigas, frozen peaks, sparse jungles and bamboo jungles. Unlike most biome variants, pale gardens are not seperatedseparated from dark forests by rivers most of the time, though a river commonly generates nearby.

Ambient music does not play in pale gardens. If a music track is playing while the player enters the biome, it fades into silence. The music resumes when the player exits the biome.

When exploring a pale garden for its blocks, it is advised to to do so during daytime. Players can also destroy most creaking hearts within the biome to reduce the high number of creakings that spawn at night.

However, it is not recommended to establish a base in a pale garden biome for Survival as the biome can prove challenging, especially at the beginning of a game, due to the many creakings and other hostile mobs that roam the biome at night. Notably, zombies and other undead mobs often survive daytime like they do in dark forests due to the dense leaf canopies. Peaceful animals are generally absent from pale gardens unless they have strayed in from surrounding biomes, limiting potential food sources and requiring players to bring animals into the biome from outside. Alternatively, self-made crop farms can be used for food. Iron golems and snow golems are slightly less effective in pale gardens because they naturally attack creakings, which cannot be killed by other mobs unless their corresponding creaking hearts are destroyed. This causes the golems to become distracted by the creakings until either the creaking despawns or is killed by a player, or until the golems get attacked first by other hostile mobs. Getting rid of creakings also requires the removal of all creaking hearts within a pale garden, which can be very time-consuming.

Mobs
Creakings are found in this biome only at night and thunderstorms, but their spawning is controlled by creaking hearts, not the biome. Regular passive mobs do not naturally spawn in the pale garden during the day, but normal hostile mobs can spawn here at night.
